Heavenly stays in Hannover
The City of Hannover and the Greater Hannover Area
Hannover is one of Germany’s largest cities and home to an impressive municipal forest, beautiful parks and Lake Maschsee. Hannover is easily reached thanks to its location at the junction of Germany’s east-west and north-south motorways, railways and our airport.
Many historical buildings witness to the city’s over 750-year old history. The World Fair Expo 2000 was held in Hannover. Every year the city hosts some of the world’s most important and largest exhibitions: CeBIT, Hannover Fair, EMO or IAA, Ligna and also ITMA.
The Royal Gardens at Herrenhausen, the New City Hall, the Old Town Hall, the Market Church, the historic city centre, Sea Life and Hannover’s Adventure Zoo with Yukon Bay are just a few of our attractions. Hannover is home to a number of important museums. The Hannover Playhouse and the Opera enjoy a great reputation and the city itself offers everything else you would except from any big city.
The Grand Hotel Mussmann is situated into the heart of the city surrounded by the best restaurants and the most exclusive shops. The greater Hannover area is surrounded by wonderful villages. Visitors can ski in the Harz in the winter, sail on Steinhuder Meer and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Lunenburg Heide, the heather country to the north. The castle of the Guelphs, the Marienburg, is the ideal destination for a visit as well as the “Saupark und Wisentgehege” wild animal park in Springe.
